गुरुग्राम, नगर निगम का कार्यकाल 37 दिन बाद पूरा होने के बाद 3 नवम्बर को शहर के 35 व्यक्ति खास से आम हो जाएंगे। एक ओर जहां गुरुग्राम नगर निगम चुनाव की सुगबुगाहट बढ़ती जा रही है, वहीं पार्षद प्रत्याशियों की संख्या में वृद्धि होती जा रही है। हालांकि अभी वर्ष 2022-23 में होने वाले निगम चुनावों की कोई घोषणा नहीं हुई है, लेकिन ये कयास लगाए जा रहे हैं कि 24 अक्तूबर दीपावली या फिर नववर्ष के अवसर पर निगम चुनाव हो सकते हैं। शहर में पिछले कई दिनों से यह चर्चा भी तेजी से हो रही है कि गुरुग्राम नगर निगम चुनाव के दौरान मेयर का पद महिला आरक्षित किया जाएगा। फिर कुछ दिनों बाद इस चर्चा का जोर भी रहा कि कोई नोटिफिकेशन जारी न होने के कारण यह स्पष्ट नहीं हो पाया कि मेयर का पद पूर्णतया महिला के लिए ही आरक्षित किया जाएगा। यह बात अभी भविष्य के गर्भ में है। सूत्रों का कहना है कि वर्ष 2011 में नगर निगम चुनाव के दौरान शहर की आबादी करीब 10 लाख मानी गई थी। लेकिन अब वर्ष 2022 में कराए गए सर्वे के अनुसार इसकी आबादी करीब 22-23 लाख बताई जा रही है। शहर में चर्चा यह भी हो रही है कि शहर की आबादी अब बढक़र 40 लाख को पार कर चुकी है। बतादें कि नगर निगम गुरुग्राम में वर्तमान में 35 वार्ड हैं, जिनमें 32 महिला व पुरुष पार्षद हैं। इसके अलावा मेयर के पद पर मधु आजाद, सीनियर डिप्टी मेयर के पद पर प्रमिला कबलाना, डिप्टी मेयर के पद पर सुनीता यादव विराजमान हैं। प्रदेश सरकार ने कुछ माह पूर्व अपने 3 चहेतों यादराम जोया, कृष्ण गाडौली व मनीष वजीराबाद को मनोनीत पार्षद बनाकर पार्षदों की संख्या 38 कर दी थी। उच्चकोटि के सूत्रों से मिली जानकारी के अनुसार अबकी बार वर्ष 2022-23 के चुनाव के दौरान आबादी को देखते हुए पार्षदों की संख्या 40 की जा सकती है। अब देखना यह है कि वर्तमान के 35 पार्षदों व मेयर टीम में कौन-कौन सा व्यक्ति चुनाव में अपनी किस्मत आजमाता है या नहीं। किस्मत आजमाने के बाद किसको कितनी कामयाबी मिलेगी, यह देखना भविष्य के गर्भ में है। हालांकि अभी यह भी स्पष्ट नहीं हो पाया है कि मेयर का ताज किस वर्ग के महिला या पुरुष के सिर पर सजेगा। सूत्रों के अनुसार नगर निगम गुरुग्राम में एक लाख के करीब पंजाबी समुदाय की संख्या बताई जा रही है। इसके बाद ब्राह्मण, वैश्य समुदायों का नंबर आता है। शहर में यह भी देखने को मिल रहा है कि पिछले कुछ समय से अनेक समाजसेवी मेयर व पार्षद चुनाव की तैयारियों में जुटे हुए हैं और वे अपने-अपने क्षेत्र में सरकारी व सामाजिक कार्य कराकर तथा व्रत-त्यौहारों पर बड़े-बड़े होडिंग लगवाकर अपनी उपस्थिति दर्ज करा रहे हैं। ऐसे में अब यह देखना है कि नगर निगम में मेयर का पद किसको मिलेगा।
