गुरुग्राम, गुरूग्राम जिला के गांव दमदमा, खेड़ला तथा अभयपुर में बायोडायवर्सिटी पार्क विकसित करने के साथ झील का जीर्णोद्धार किया जाएगा। ई वाई फाउंडेशन के सहयोग से बनने वाली यह परियोजना लगभग 500 ऐकड़ में विकसित होगी और मुख्यमंत्री श्री मनोहर लाल 8 दिसंबर को इस परियोजना का शिलान्यास करेंगे। यह परियोजना पूरी होने पर गुरूग्राम वासियों को एक सुंदर रमणिक स्थल उपलब्ध होगा और इससे गुरूग्राम के पर्यावरण की स्थिति में भी सुधार होगा।परियोजना के शिलान्यास कार्यक्रम को लेकर गुरूग्राम के अतिरिक्त उपायुक्त श्री विश्राम कुमार मीणा ने अपने कार्यालय में संबंधित अधिकारियों की बैठक बुलाई और उन्हंे जिम्मेदारियां सौंपी। बैठक में बताया गया कि ई वाई फाउंडेशन अपने सीएसआर के तहत गुरूजल सोसायटी के साथ मिलकर गांव दमदमा में लगभग 80 ऐकड़ में बने दमदमा झील का जीर्णोद्धार करेगी। गुरूग्राम जिला में ग्रीन कवर अर्थात् हरियाली के अधीन क्षेत्र में बढोत्तरी करने के लिए जिला के गांव दमदमा तथा आसपास के क्षेत्र में लगभग 420 ऐकड़ में बायोडायवर्सिटी पार्क विकसित किया जाएगा और वर्तमान दमदमा झील का जीर्णोद्धार करके इसके स्वरूप को बड़ा करते हुए लगभग 80 ऐकड़ में झील बनाई जाएगी। अतिरिक्त उपायुक्त विश्राम कुमार मीणा ने बताया कि इस परियोजना का उद्देश्य दमदमा व आसपास के गांवों में खराब हो चुकी जमीन की गुणवत्ता को पुर्न स्थापित करना और वन क्षेत्र में वृद्धि करना है। इसके अलावा, झील के जीर्णोद्धार से भूमिगत जल के स्तर में भी सुधार होगा, भूजल रिचार्ज करने में मदद मिलेगी। उन्होंने कहा कि इस परियोजना से उस क्षेत्र के फूल व पौधो तथा पेड़ो की संख्या में वृद्धि होगी और प्राकृतिक संसाधनों जैसे मिट्टी व पानी का संरक्षण किया जा सकेगा बैठक में गुरूग्राम महानगर विकास प्राधिकरण के एडीशनल सीईओ सुभाष यादव, जिला विकास एवं पंचायत अधिकारी नरेंद्र सारवान, गुरूजल सोसायटी की प्रोजेक्ट डायरेक्टर सुभि केसरवानी, सिंचाई विभाग के कार्यकारी अभियंता भीम आर्य व ए एस सुहाग, ई वाई फाउंडेशन के सहायक निदेशक पुस्कर प्रसाद, हरियाणा राज्य सीएसआर ट्रस्ट से शुभम सिंह सहित कई अधिकारियों ने भाग लिया।
